About  Flint Hills Homestead Beef

About Us

Welcome to Flint Hills Homestead Beef.

Our story began with two families coming together and a desire to build a simpler, more meaningful life. More than twelve years ago, my wife and I met while each raising two children of our own. She was a single mother working two jobs, while I was a single father with a career that kept me traveling around the world. When we blended our families, we knew it was time for a change.

I called it retirement — and then I bought cattle. As it turns out, ranching is anything but retirement.

What it gave us, however, was the opportunity to stay closer to home, raise our family together, and enjoy a life connected to the land. Our days became filled with pastures, hay fields, gardens, cattle, and the simple pleasure of hearing cows call for their calves in the quiet of the Kansas countryside.

Growing our own food has always been important to us. We keep gardens for fresh produce, and raising our own cattle gave us the same confidence in the beef we serve our family. We wanted to know where our food came from, how it was raised, and what went into caring for it. That commitment eventually became Flint Hills Homestead Beef Company.

Today, we raise Black Angus/Hereford and Black Angus/Santa Gertrudis cross cattle on the rolling pastures of the Kansas Flint Hills. Our cattle graze Bluestem, Brome, Fescue, and other native grasses, with additional nutrition provided when needed throughout the year. We focus on healthy animals, hands-on care, quality forage, fresh water, and responsible pasture management. Our cattle receive no added growth hormones.

For us, ranching is about more than producing beef. It is about respecting the animals in our care, looking after the land that supports them, and providing other families with quality beef they can feel good about bringing home.

Our values are simple: family, honesty, animal care, responsible stewardship, and quality.

From our Flint Hills pastures to your family’s table, thank you for supporting a family-owned ranch and local agriculture.

We’re proud to raise quality beef right here in the Flint Hills. Welcome to our ranch.

From Our Family Ranch to Your Table

Flint Hills Homestead Beef Company is a family-owned and operated ranch in the heart of the Flint Hills of Kansas. What began as a desire to raise better food for our own blended family grew into a commitment to providing high-quality, ranch-raised beef for other families as well.

Our cattle graze the native grasses of the Flint Hills year-round and are raised with hands-on care, respect for the land, and a focus on quality. We raise Black Angus/Hereford and Black Angus/Santa Gertrudis cross cattle, using a grass-fed, grain-finished approach to produce flavorful, dependable beef we’re proud to serve at our own table.

Today, our goal is simple: to provide families with quality beef they can feel good about buying, while continuing the ranching traditions, values, and way of life we’re building for future generations.
